I could stay awake the entire night, And tell you how wonderful you are. Fill your head with thousands of ideas, Cliches, and metaphors which might run dry. I could tell you of the beauty in your eyes, Like a whirlpool sucking in my thoughts. Or that wonderful smile that makes the sun rise, Even if you only show it for a second. I could write you thousands of notes, Each one describing a fraction of emotion, The I have felt since I met you. A smooth symphony of words, Brings to life your imagination. Detailing every little nuance, While breathing through my pen. And the photographs I would write, Would forever be remembered. I could give you a thousand reasons, Why there is nobody better than I. Why others don’t compare, To what I have to offer. I could dress myself in my ego, And take you out to a ballroom dance. But once the clock strikes 12, It’s as if it never began. Out of all of things I could tell you, None other will compare. To the thousands of my faults, All of my dirty little secrets. These are what is truly me, And nothing else would be just. So as the sun rises I’ll keep on sharing, Because these imperfections make you want to know more. |
